Seaham is a former pit town sitting on the Durham coast, about 6 miles south of central Sunderland, so we're typically with you in 20-25 minutes. The housing is a real mix: late-Victorian and Edwardian terraces in the older town centre, 1970s and 80s council-built semis spreading out towards Dawdon and Deneside, and a growing patch of newer private builds near the marina development. We get called out for everything from standard lockouts to full security upgrades on the older terrace stock.
Most call-outs take us down the A19 then the B1287 into town, or straight along the coast road from Sunderland. The older streets around Church Street and Tempest Road have timber front doors with ageing mortice locks, many of them decades old and well overdue a refresh. The Dawdon estate roads are mostly PVCu with euro cylinder locks, plenty of which are still the basic, snappable type. The marina flats are a different job again, often communal entry systems and insurance-grade cylinders. Seaham's older terraces genuinely have some of the most tired lock stock we see on the whole patch.
Most common Seaham jobs

- Anti-snap euro cylinder replacements on PVCu doors across the 1980s semis
- Worn mortice lock repairs and replacements on Victorian terraces near the town centre
- Snapped or bent keys extracted without door damage
- Lock change after a relationship breakdown or tenant changeover on a rented terrace
- Communal door entry faults at the marina-side apartment blocks
